Kuwait Participates in the 17th Meeting of Arab Finance Ministers

Kuwait participated yesterday in the seventeenth meeting of the Arab Ministers of Finance, held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The Kuwaiti delegation was chaired by Asil Al-Munaifi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, on behalf of Minister of Finance Dr. Yaqoub Al-Rafai, with the participation of several officials from the Ministry of Finance.

The meeting discussed a number of economic and financial issues of common interest, most notably the state of public finances in Arab countries, fiscal diagnostics and policies, as well as opportunities for using artificial intelligence in tax administration and sustainable financing to achieve sustainable infrastructure. It also reviewed the latest developments in the implementation of tax decisions concerning base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS), and Arab countries’ positions vis-à-vis the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

Kuwait’s participation underscores its commitment to strengthening Arab financial and economic cooperation, exchanging expertise and experiences in confronting economic and financial challenges, and supporting joint efforts aimed at achieving economic stability and sustainable growth in the Arab region.
