Court of Accounts approves tender for 'Operation and Maintenance of Electricity Transmission Networks' for 4.313 million dinars

Darine Al-Ali Sources at the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy stated that the Court of Accounts has approved the ministry’s tender for the operation and maintenance of electrical transmission networks, with a total value of 4.313 million Kuwaiti dinars. The tender is part of the ministry’s efforts to maintain the efficiency of electrical transmission networks and ensure their continuous operation by carrying out necessary operation and maintenance works for network components, thereby supporting the reliability of the power system and the stability of energy supplies. Operation and maintenance of transmission networks are of great importance, as they constitute one of the main components of the power system, responsible for transferring energy from power generation stations to main substations, with a view to distributing it across various areas and consumers. Periodic maintenance works also help maintain the readiness of network components and equipment, address technical faults, reduce the likelihood of power outages, and enhance operational efficiency and the sustainability of electricity services. The tender falls within the works carried out by the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy to preserve electrical infrastructure and improve the readiness of transmission networks, thereby supporting grid stability and its capacity to meet the country’s electricity needs. In a related development, the Court of Accounts is reviewing the tender for the maintenance and repair of main 11/33 kV substations, with a total value of 5.331 million Kuwaiti dinars. This tender is part of works related to the maintenance and repair of main substations under the ministry, which represent a fundamental component of the electrical grid system due to their role in transforming and distributing electrical energy across different voltage levels, ensuring the continuous supply of electricity to areas and consumers. Maintenance and repair works aim to maintain the efficiency of substations and their technical components, ensure their operational readiness, and address technical faults that could affect operational efficiency, thereby supporting the stability of the electrical grid and the reliability of supplies. The Court of Accounts continues to review the tender within its supervisory mandate over the financial and contractual procedures of government tenders, in preparation for completing the procedures in accordance with the governing regulations.
