Trump: Iran wants an agreement, but not the one I want; I am always thinking of resuming strikes against it

U.S. President Donald Trump described the British police’s announcement that five people were arrested on suspicion of plotting a “terrorist attack” near the Fairford base, used by the U.S. military, as “great.”

Trump confirmed that the detainees had been under surveillance for a long time and that the suspects were planning to cause serious damage to the Fairford base in western England. He said the United States is working with Britain on the investigation into the Fairford base, adding, “We know there was an attempt to harm us.”

Meanwhile, Axios reported that Trump said the U.S. military is facilitating the export of large quantities of oil through the Strait of Hormuz. He added, “Iran wants to reach an agreement, but it’s not the agreement I want to make, and I’m always thinking about resuming strikes against them.” The U.S. president also predicted that “further talks with the Iranians” would take place this week.
