Waleed Ali: The match is a chance to redeem ourselves

Yemeni national team coach, Algerian Nour Eddine Ould Ali, affirmed that today’s match against Qatar represents an opportunity for his team to redeem themselves following the result of the previous game. He noted that the technical staff has worked to address mistakes and present a better image in the second round of the “Gulf Cup 27” competitions.

Speaking at yesterday’s press conference, Ould Ali stated, “For us, this match will be a chance to restore our honor. We made some errors in the previous game, and we will work to correct them.”

Regarding the state of Yemeni football, he explained, “The league is new, and things are beginning to improve. As for today’s match, we will face a World Cup-qualified team that has gained significant experience through its participations. We will work to improve our team’s performance and benefit from this encounter.”

He added, “Our goal is to be stable. Any national team requires factors for success, some of which are internal, while others are related to the environment surrounding the team, such as the level of the league and players’ participation abroad.”

For his part, Yemeni national team player Rami Al-Wasmani affirmed that his teammates have pledged to present a better image in today’s match, having learned from the lessons of the previous game.

Al-Wasmani said, “We have many lessons to learn, and we emerged from the previous match with both positive and negative points.”
