Video: Al-Yousef checks on two individuals injured in a dog attack

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef checked on the health of two individuals who were attacked by dogs.

The First Deputy visited an employee of the Public Authority for Agriculture and Marine Resources at Farwaniya Hospital, following an attack by several stray dogs while he was performing his duties at the authority’s headquarters. The incident resulted in multiple injuries. Al-Yousef inquired about the employee’s condition, listened to a briefing on his medical progress, and wished him a speedy recovery and full health.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef also checked on the condition of a Kuwaiti national who was attacked by a dog while entering her residence, sustaining multiple injuries. She was transported to Amiri Hospital for treatment.

Security authorities immediately responded to the scene, where it was determined that the dog belonged to an individual. A case of “negligence in the custody of an animal and accidental injury” was filed, and necessary legal measures are being taken.

The Ministry of Interior urged citizens and residents to exercise caution and vigilance when encountering stray dogs, advising them not to approach or provoke the animals. It also emphasized the need to supervise children and ensure the safety of the elderly to prevent dogs from gathering near residential areas and public facilities.

In a press statement, the Ministry stressed the importance of reporting the locations of stray dogs and their gatherings by calling the emergency number (112), providing precise location details to enable appropriate action in coordination with relevant authorities and to ensure safe handling. The Ministry of Interior called on everyone to cooperate, adhere to preventive guidelines, and report any gatherings of stray dogs to help enhance public safety and protect lives.
