Al-Jassim clinches his sixth consecutive title in the World Manufacturers Championship

Toyota Gazoo Racing secured its sixth consecutive title in the FIA World Rally Championship Manufacturers’ Championship during the Rally Chile, organized by the FIA. Oliver Solberg and co-driver Elliott Edmondson, driving Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 No. 99, took the victory, while their teammates Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais, in Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 No. 1, finished second, giving the team a one-two finish in the event.

This triumph matches two historic records in the World Rally Championship. With this win, Toyota Gazoo Racing equals the record set by the Italian manufacturer Lancia, which won six consecutive titles between 1987 and 1992. The victory also brings Toyota’s total to 10 World Manufacturers’ Championship titles, tying it with Lancia for the most titles in the category.

Therefore, I wish every success to Elfyn Evans, Sébastien Ogier, Oliver Solberg, Kalle Rovanperä, and Takamoto Katsuta in the final two rounds. Give it your all!”

The Rally Chile was held on gravel roads in the Biobío Region, starting in rainy conditions on muddy stages. Solberg and Edmondson delivered a standout performance, allowing them to take an early lead. As the stages gradually dried and became rougher, the duo extended their advantage before sealing the victory by 16.6 seconds, after setting the fastest time in the final Power Stage that concluded the rally.
