Al-Anzi calls for a pedestrian bridge linking the commercial area to Al-Jahra Hospital

Abdullah Al-Anzi, head of the Jahra Governorate Committee in the Municipal Council, called for the construction of a pedestrian bridge connecting the commercial area to Jahra Hospital.

In a proposal he submitted, Al-Anzi stated that, given the heavy traffic on the Peripheral Road and the continuous flow of pedestrians between the opposite commercial area and Jahra Hospital, as well as the potential risks and hit-and-run accidents associated with pedestrians crossing the road, he proposed the following: the construction of a pedestrian bridge on the Peripheral Road at the location opposite Jahra Hospital, linking the commercial area on one side with the vicinity of Jahra Hospital on the other, as indicated in the attached plan. The most suitable location and design should be selected in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Al-Anzi added that the aim of this proposal is to provide a safe crossing for pedestrians and reduce the risk of hit-and-run accidents, particularly for hospital staff, patients, and visitors to the commercial area, given the need to cross the Peripheral Road.

He noted that building the bridge would also help regulate pedestrian movement, prevent random road crossings, and enhance traffic safety around the hospital and the commercial area. The bridge should be accessible to people with disabilities and the elderly, equipped with elevators or other appropriate means in accordance with approved technical standards.

Al-Anzi called for the allocation and construction of a pedestrian bridge on the Peripheral Road to connect the commercial area with the vicinity of Jahra Hospital, in order to safeguard the safety of hospital staff, patients, commercial area visitors, and pedestrians, and to mitigate the risks of hit-and-run accidents. He urged the relevant authorities to study the site and determine the appropriate connection point in line with traffic and technical requirements.
