Trump: Meeting with Chinese President Was Highly Productive, Great Things Will Happen

US President Donald Trump praised his meeting with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, stating in a post on his platform “Truth Social”: “It was a very productive meeting with President Xi, for both the United States and China. I promised that ‘great things will happen.’ And, like most people, he seemed to prefer replacing the inaccurate and misleading term ‘artificial intelligence’ with a more precise and significant name: ‘Super Intelligence.’ That will be Super!” He added, “Everyone agreed on that last night as well,” referring to the dinner hosted by Trump and First Lady Melania for their Chinese counterparts, President Xi and First Lady Peng Liyuan, on Thursday evening.

Both Xi and Trump delivered remarks after the meal began. President Xi extended his sincere greetings and best wishes for the Mid-Autumn Festival to Americans from all walks of life who care about China-US relations and support their continued development. At the same time, he noted Trump’s successful visit to China in May, emphasizing that state visits exchanged between the two countries’ presidents within six months mark a historic precedent in bilateral relations.
