Hawally Security Detains Bangladeshi with 126 Bags of Narcotics

The Ministry of Interior stated that the Hawally Governorate Security Directorate, represented by the Operations and Patrols Department – Vehicle Deployment Section, successfully apprehended a suspect of Bangladeshi nationality in possession of narcotic substances, as part of ongoing security efforts to apprehend violators and drug dealers.

In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said the apprehension came after officers grew suspicious of an individual present in a dirt lot who exhibited signs of nervousness. A precautionary search revealed a quantity of narcotic substances in his possession.

The statement added: When confronted with the seized items, the suspect admitted to delivering narcotics to users by hiding them in dirt lots and documenting their locations via phone. He also confessed to having another quantity of narcotics in his residence in the Salmiya district. Upon visiting the residence and completing the necessary legal procedures, additional quantities of narcotic substances were found.

The total seized items from the suspect were as follows:

- (101) bags of heroin

- (25) bags of shabu (methamphetamine)

- (4) drug paraphernalia items

- A precision scale

The suspect and the seized items were referred to the competent authority to take all necessary legal action against him.
