Minister of "Affairs": Necessity of selecting competent, cooperative auditors to protect shareholders' funds

Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Umthail Al-Hawla, affirmed the ministry’s continued commitment to strengthening oversight and follow-up, and enhancing performance efficiency in cooperative societies, thereby contributing to elevating the cooperative sector and improving services provided to members.

She made these remarks in a press statement while attending part of the personal interviews conducted for candidates applying for financial and administrative inspector positions within the cooperative sector, as part of efforts to select new national talents capable of performing supervisory roles with efficiency and competence.

Al-Hawla stated that the ministry is keen on selecting qualified individuals for supervisory positions to help protect members’ funds and ensure compliance with the laws and regulations governing cooperative operations.

She added that enhancing supervisory work is a fundamental pillar in reducing violations and reinforcing principles of transparency and discipline in this vital sector, noting that the selection of national talents is conducted according to standards that ensure fairness and equal opportunities among applicants.

Al-Hawla explained that the personal interview procedures are carried out under clear and organized guidelines, including video recording of the interviews to document the selection stages and reinforce principles of transparency and impartiality in the evaluation process.

She praised the extensive female participation from citizens seeking to join supervisory roles in the cooperative sector, indicating that this influx reflects the commitment of national talents to participate and take responsibility across various fields of public work.

She concluded by affirming the ministry’s ongoing support for national human resources and their empowerment in supervisory positions within the cooperative sector, contributing to building a more efficient and disciplined supervisory system and enhancing the quality of work in cooperative societies.
