Advisor Al-Rifai: Unprecedented rates in reviewing appeals and achieving prompt justice during the judicial year

Abdul Karim Ahmad: The President of the Court of Appeal, Counselor Muhammad Ahmad Al-Sayed Abdullah Al-Rifai, stated that the recently concluded judicial year witnessed extraordinary efforts in hearing and adjudicating appeals at unprecedented rates, according to statistics issued by the court.

During a speech delivered before the General Assembly of the Court of Appeal on the occasion of the end of the judicial year, Al-Rifai commended the sense of responsibility demonstrated by the counselors. He noted that adjudicating appeals at such a high rate and within appropriate timeframes had the greatest impact in achieving prompt justice, which is the aspiration of all, in line with the standing and reputation of Kuwait’s pioneering and dignified judiciary.

Al-Rifai called for further dedication during the new judicial year, pointing out that when distributing the new workload, the court prioritized the public interest above all else.

He added that the State, under the leadership of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah, Prime Minister, spares no effort in providing all forms of moral and material support to the judiciary so that they can fulfill their mission to the best of their ability. He expressed gratitude and appreciation for the State’s support of the judiciary and the guardianship of justice.

He also referred to His Highness the Amir’s directives regarding the acceleration of the Kuwaitization of the judiciary, noting that the Court of Appeal has kept this goal at the forefront of its agenda from the very beginning and is nearing the achievement of the desired objective.

He further extended his thanks to the counselors in the Technical Office and its staff, the Court’s Registry Administration, and all employees for their distinguished efforts, which had a significant impact on facilitating the court’s work and overcoming all obstacles.

He concluded by reminding those present of the Almighty’s words: “Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and that, when you judge between people, you judge with justice.”
