Foreign Minister: Developing the education system and leveraging digital transformation to meet the requirements of the future
Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber affirmed the State of Kuwait’s belief that education is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development, investing in human capital, and building communities capable of meeting the challenges of the future.
He made these remarks in a speech delivered during the high-level event titled “Doubling Down: A New Era for Education Financing,” organized by the governments of the Italian Republic and the Federal Republic of Nigeria in cooperation with the Global Partnership for Education. The event was held at United Nations Headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber highlighted Kuwait’s commitment to continuously developing its education system, enhancing the quality of education, leveraging digital transformation and modern technologies, and nurturing youth skills to meet the demands of the future and the labor market.
He reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at expanding access to education, particularly in developing countries and the most vulnerable communities, driven by the conviction that investing in education is an investment in development, stability, and shared prosperity.
In this context, he noted that Kuwait, through its national and development institutions—most notably the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development—continues to support projects and programs in sister and friendly countries, including those related to education and human capacity development, alongside supporting educational programs implemented by international organizations.
He emphasized the importance of protecting education during times of crisis and ensuring sustainable and adequate financing to guarantee the continuity of the educational process and safeguard the right of children and youth to build a better future.
He reiterated Kuwait’s support for international efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4, underscoring the importance of strengthening international partnerships, mobilizing resources, and exchanging expertise to build more inclusive, higher-quality, and resilient education systems that ensure no one is left behind.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber also participated in a high-level event titled “Call to Action for Children in the West Bank and Gaza Strip,” which addressed ways to enhance the protection of Palestinian children and meet their basic needs.
The event discussed the humanitarian situation facing children in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as ways to strengthen their protection and support efforts to provide them with essential care and services.
Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber held talks with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Donald Blum to explore ways to enhance bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between Kuwait and the United States, and to develop them across various fields.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting reviewed the strategic relations between Kuwait and the friendly United States of America, discussed the latest regional developments and exchanged views on them, and examined efforts aimed at supporting security and stability in the region.
