African Diplomatic Corps Bids Farewell to Ambassadors of Malawi and Tanzania, Praising Their Contributions to Strengthening Relations with Kuwait

Dr. Al-Arif Said Hassan, Ambassador of the Comoros and Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps, hosted a farewell ceremony to mark the end of the missions of Yunes Abdul Karim, Ambassador of the Republic of Malawi, and Saaid Hussein Masoro, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania. The event was attended by Khalid Al-Wazan, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs; Ahmad Shinar Al-Bukhait, Counselor and Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Protocol Affairs; along with a number of heads of diplomatic missions, ambassadors, and members of the diplomatic corps.

In a speech, Dr. Al-Aarif Said Hassan, Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Comoros, expressed his appreciation for the contributions made by the two ambassadors during their tenure in Kuwait. He praised their professionalism and commitment, as well as their role in strengthening relations between their respective countries and the State of Kuwait, in addition to their active participation in the activities of the African Diplomatic Corps.

He stated that the two ambassadors served as exemplary models in representing their countries and building bridges of cooperation and brotherhood with their colleagues. He highlighted their active participation in the political, cultural, media, social, and sporting events organized by the African Diplomatic Corps, most notably the annual Africa Day celebration.

He noted that Ambassador Yunes Abdul Karim chaired the organizing committee for the 2025 Africa Day celebration, while Ambassador Saaid Hussein Masoro served on the organizing committee for the 2026 Africa Day celebration. He affirmed that these participations reflected their dedication to supporting joint African efforts and enhancing communication among African missions in Kuwait.

He added: “As you begin a new chapter in your careers, your footprints in Kuwait will remain etched in our memory and in the history of relations between our countries. You will always be welcome among us, and we hope that the bonds of friendship we have built with you over the years will continue.”

He emphasized that the farewell ceremony does not signify the end of the human relationships that have united the departing ambassadors and colleagues. He said: “Today, as we officially bid you farewell, we do not bid you farewell as human beings. You have been, and will remain, brothers we take pride in, and calm, balanced voices in every setting.” He wished them success and prosperity in their future endeavors, and happiness and a bright future for their families.
