Prince's Representative Discusses Regional and International Issues of Mutual Interest with NATO Secretary General

The Representative of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, received His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, along with his accompanying delegation. The meeting took place at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the frameworks of the distinguished partnership and cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) were reviewed within the context of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative. The discussion also covered the follow-up of training and technical cooperation programs through NATO’s Regional Center in Kuwait, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern and efforts to enhance international security and stability.

Attending the meeting were Sheikh Jeraah Al-Jaber, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Dr. Meshal Al-Jaber, Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority; Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi; Ambassador Sadiq Ma’arifi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Affairs; Ambassador Tariq Al-Bunai, Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations; and Minister Plenipotentiary Abdullah Nasser Al-Obaidi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Minister’s Office Affairs.
