Statement by 80 countries: Houthi militia's advance toward Bab el-Mandeb increases risks to maritime security and global trade

More than 80 countries called for the immediate and full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, demanding that the safe passage of ships be guaranteed without fees, and considering Iran’s actions in the strait a threat to security and navigation. In a statement reported by Al Jazeera, the 80 countries stated that “the Houthi militia’s advance toward the Bab el-Mandeb strait increases risks to shipping, maritime security, and global trade.”
