Lopetegui: 'The Oranges' Target the Title

Qatar national football team coach Julian Lopetegui affirmed that Al-Annab’s focus is on competing for the title of the 27th edition of the Gulf Cup of Nations (Gulf Cup 27), stressing that the tournament is a goal in itself and not merely a preparatory step for the upcoming Asian Cup. The Spanish coach said yesterday at the press conference preceding Qatar’s match against Bahrain that the Qatari national team has prepared well for the tournament and looks forward to delivering its best performance against Bahrain, the defending champions, adding that the players feel energized and enthusiastic about the upcoming clash. He added that the Bahraini national team possesses quality and strength and is led by a coach who is doing a good job, emphasizing that the Qatari team is aware of this and will do its utmost in the match.
