Government and oil contracts worth 1.07 billion dinars

The Central Tenders Bureau announced its semi-annual statistics for 2026 (from January 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026), stating that 54 meetings were held during this period to discuss matters related to tendering procedures, bid submissions, bid opening, awards, and other services related to public tenders.

In a press statement, the Bureau said that the number of tendering requests reached 91,191, relating to projects of government entities and the oil sector, with related procedures currently being completed.

It clarified that the number of tenders and contracts awarded reached 154, with a total value of 1.070 billion dinars (approximately 3.2 billion dollars), while the estimated value of these tenders and contracts was 1.190 billion dinars (approximately 3.6 billion dollars).

The Bureau added that the total savings on the awarded tenders and contracts, compared to their estimated values, amounted to 120.334 million dinars.

It noted that the value of awards for oil and petroleum sector projects reached 474.163 million dinars for four tenders, while the value of awards for government entities and bodies reached 563.285 million dinars for 150 tenders and contracts.

The Bureau indicated that the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy ranked first among government ministries and bodies in terms of the value of awarded tenders, with 430.405 million dinars for 35 tenders and contracts.

The Bureau added that the Civil Aviation Authority came in second place with 35.404 million dinars for five tenders and contracts, while the Ministry of Public Works ranked third with 16.533 million dinars for seven tenders and contracts.

Regarding the oil sector, the Central Tenders Bureau stated that Kuwait Petroleum Corporation ranked first in terms of the value of awarded tenders, with 461.483 million dinars for three tenders, while National Petroleum Company came in second with 12.680 million dinars for one tender.

Concerning the classification of projects for government and oil entities, the Bureau noted that electrical and mechanical works and projects ranked first with 39 projects, accounting for 25% of the total number of awards.

It added that the projects and works included the maintenance of stations, generators, water pumps, cables, and lighting, as well as all matters related to electrical works, mechanical and marine equipment, firefighting, and air conditioning.

The Bureau clarified that technology, information, and communications projects ranked second with 26 projects, accounting for 17% of the total number of awards, including projects and works for the maintenance of information and communications technology devices and systems, as well as advisory services for them.

It pointed out that labor supply projects ranked third with 17 projects, accounting for 11% of the total number of awards, including the provision of labor for security, guarding, mail, printing, loading, handling, and specialized technical labor.
