In video: Nissan unveils the all-new Tecton for the first time in the Middle East

Abdulmohsen Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, the exclusive Nissan dealer in Kuwait, unveiled the all-new Tecton after Nissan selected Kuwait as the regional launch destination for the vehicle, adding a new model to its regional portfolio of sport utility vehicles (SUVs). The Tecton delivers the confidence and presence of a large SUV within the compact segment, combining distinctive design, turbocharged performance, smart technologies, and advanced comfort levels to fulfill its promise of delivering “more than you expect.”

Following its global debut in India, the Tecton arrives in the region as a global model developed under Nissan’s “One Car, One World” philosophy. Manufactured in Chennai, India, and designed to meet the needs of diverse global markets, the vehicle made its regional debut at the 2026 Auto Show, underscoring the Middle East’s pivotal role in the Tecton’s global rollout strategy.

The Tecton blends the robust dimensions of an SUV with a commanding road presence, powered by a responsive 1.3-liter turbocharged engine producing 153 horsepower and up to 278 Nm of torque. Designed for high versatility across various driving conditions, it combines compact exterior dimensions with a ground clearance of 212 mm, alongside a multi-view camera and advanced driver assistance systems that enhance driver confidence. Inside, a panoramic roof, ventilated front seats, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system create a refined and comfortable environment for daily use.

Confidence and the presence of a large SUV

The all-new Tecton draws its design from the Nissan Patrol, translating elements of Nissan’s larger SUV design language into a compact vehicle while maintaining a distinct identity. Its robust dimensions and bold presence are complemented by a wide front fascia, full-LED headlights, and a distinctive LED light bar stretching between the lamps. Available 18-inch alloy wheels further enhance its road presence. Depending on the trim level, five two-tone exterior color options are available, offering customers greater flexibility to customize the Tecton’s distinctive look.

The Tecton measures 4,348 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,657 mm, combining compact dimensions suitable for urban driving with 212 mm of ground clearance, providing drivers with added confidence across various road conditions.

The Tecton’s performance matches its strong design. It is powered by a 1.3-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 153 horsepower and up to 278 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed wet dual-clutch transmission that delivers quick response, smooth acceleration, and seamless gear shifts. An electronic shifter and paddle shifters behind the steering wheel provide additional control over gear selection, while “Eco,” “Comfort,” and “Personal” driving modes allow drivers to tailor the vehicle’s response to their preferences and varying driving conditions.

Advanced technologies and smart driver support

The Tecton is equipped with a suite of technologies that enhance connectivity, situational awareness, and ease of use. A 10.1-inch infotainment screen offers wireless connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by a high-resolution 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster that clearly displays key driving information to the driver. An Arkamys Auditorium sound system with six speakers—including four standard speakers and two tweeters—elevates the in-cabin experience. A smart key with remote engine start adds convenience, while an available power tailgate (depending on trim) provides easier access to the cargo area.

The multi-view camera works in tandem with 12 ultrasonic sensors to provide enhanced visibility around the vehicle during maneuvering in tight spaces. Intelligent cruise control with stop-and-go functionality helps manage changing traffic conditions, while blind spot warning, lane departure prevention, and automatic emergency braking systems further enhance driver awareness and confidence. The Tecton also comes standard with six airbags.
