Trump: Iran is the world's number one sponsor of terrorism, and I believe we will reach a deal right after the midterm elections

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States has returned stronger than ever before, with its military being the strongest in the world. He affirmed that the country’s future is very bright and its economy is the envy of the world.

In his address at the opening session of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, he added: “Two years ago, our country was dead, but today our country is alive and vibrant.”

Trump pointed out that Iran is the world’s foremost sponsor of terrorism, and he called on it to strike a deal, but its leaders continue to refuse. He said, “After giving them every opportunity, I decided to intervene to ensure that we will never face a nightmare again.” He asserted that “Iran was the bully in the Middle East, but it no longer is,” confirming that “we destroyed Iranian nuclear facilities in 2025 through airstrikes.” He added, “I offered Iran economic cooperation in exchange for ending its nuclear program and its support for terrorism, but it refused, which was a major mistake.” Trump expressed his belief that “we will reach a deal with Iran directly after the midterm elections.”
