Olympic team bids farewell to Asian Games

The national Olympic football team (under-23) bid farewell to the 20th Asian Games "Aichi-Nagoya 2026" after losing 1-2 to the Philippines in the third and final match of Group C, played at Minato Stadium in Japan.

The "Blue" side's goal came from an own goal by Filipino Scott Woods, who deflected a cross from Jassim Al-Anzi into his own net (66'). The Philippines scored through Santiago Robles (19') and Andres Aldiguer from a penalty kick (90+2').

In another match, Uzbekistan completed their group campaign with a perfect record, defeating Vietnam 2-0.

The national team finished fourth in the group with a single point. Uzbekistan topped the standings with nine points, followed by Vietnam with four points; both advanced to the quarter-finals. The Philippines finished third with three points.
