Representative of His Highness the Crown Prince Meets CEO of Alphabet and Google and World Bank Group President and CEO

His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, representing His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, met with Ruth Porat, President and Chief Investment Officer of Alphabet and Google, at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the eighty-first session of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting, the latest developments in the framework agreement between the Government of the State of Kuwait and Google Cloud were reviewed, along with the implementation of strategic projects related to digital transformation, cloud computing infrastructure, data centers, and the development of digital skills among Kuwaiti national cadres. The prospects for joint cooperation between the State of Kuwait and global company Alphabet were also discussed, aiming to support Kuwait’s vision.

Attending the meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber, Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad, Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Affairs Ambassador Sadiq Maqrabi, Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States of America Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, and Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Tariq Al-Banna.

His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, also met with Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group, and Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al-Mulla, Chief Executive Officer of the World Bank Group, at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the eighty-first session of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting, the latest developments regarding the training and development of national cadres and leveraging the World Bank Group’s expertise to provide technical support in line with Kuwait’s vision goals were reviewed. The parties also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in developmental and advisory fields, exchanging views on regional and international economic and developmental issues, as well as efforts to finance sustainable development.
