Kuwait Customs Thwarts Smuggling of 4.7 kg of Marijuana, 319 g of Shabu, and 6,211 Ecstasy Pills

The General Administration of Customs announced that customs inspectors at Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 5 thwarted an attempt by an arriving passenger from Bangladesh to smuggle various quantities of narcotics and psychoactive substances, under the presence and supervision of Saleh Al-Omar, Deputy Head of the General Administration of Customs for Border Crossings and Customs Investigation and Research.

In a press statement, Customs noted that a thorough search yielded three bags containing a total of 4.750 kilograms of marijuana, six bags containing 319.3 grams of methamphetamine, and 31 bags containing 6,211 ecstasy pills, which are hallucinogenic and listed among psychoactive substances.

It clarified that a seizure report is being prepared and customs and legal procedures are being completed, in preparation for referring the suspect and the seized items to the General Administration for the Suppression of Narcotics and Alcohol.

The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its continued efforts to tighten control over all customs checkpoints and to firmly combat attempts to smuggle narcotics and psychoactive substances, in order to safeguard community security and the safety of its members.
