Over 75,000 Egyptians registered on the "Maskan" portal to reserve 10,000 housing units on the first day

The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities announced that the first day of applications for 10,000 rental units under the lease-to-own scheme, offered through the New Urban Communities Authority, witnessed significant demand.

The ministry stated that approximately 71,760 citizens registered on the “Maskan” platform using digital identity verification. Preliminary bookings reached about 2,122, while paid bookings amounted to approximately 564.

Applications via the “Maskan” website will be accepted from September 20 to October 19, 2026. Applicants are also required to create an account on the “Digital Egypt” platform to verify their identity.

The New Urban Communities Authority’s offering includes 10,000 housing units: approximately 5,000 completed and ready for handover, and another 5,000 units scheduled for construction over the next three years. All units are offered under the lease-to-own system, with various sizes, and are distributed across approximately 26 new cities throughout the country.

Applications must be submitted through the “Maskan” portal at https://reserve.newcities.gov.eg/, in accordance with the terms and conditions detailed in the project’s terms-and-conditions booklet. Applicants must also create an account on the “Digital Egypt” platform to submit their applications via https://digital.gov.eg/.
