Al-Yousef: The Blue Team will not attend Gulf Cup 27 for a vacation

The Kuwait Football Association held a press conference last evening to announce the signing of sponsorship agreements for the national teams in general and the senior national team in particular for the “Gulf Cup 27” tournament in Jeddah, scheduled from the 23rd of this month until October 6, as well as for the 2027 Asian Cup, which will take place from January 7 to February 5 next year in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event was attended by Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef, President of the Kuwait Football Association, along with representatives of the sponsoring companies: Nawaf Al-Rifai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Al-Nawadi” Holding Group and General Manager of “Platinum” Company; Khalid Al-Saaid, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Ta’azur” Company; and Amal Boukhamsin, Head of Communications, Public Relations, and Corporate Social Responsibility at “Talabat.”

In his address at the press conference, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef welcomed the representatives of the sponsoring companies and thanked them for their valuable trust in supporting the national team, noting that this support will have a significant impact in the future on preparing the “Blue” team to the required standard. He emphasized that this support from the private sector contributes to the development of sports in general and football in particular.

Al-Yousef extended his sincere gratitude to the sponsoring companies for their substantial support and excellent cooperation during the negotiation phase.

He expressed his hope that the “Blue” team would deliver a distinguished performance, stressing that the national team would not be participating merely for a “vacation,” but would give its all to perform exceptionally and compete for the title.

Al-Yousef added that the association had added a third flight following the overwhelming public demand to attend the national team’s match against Saudi Arabia in the opening match of “Gulf Cup 27.” He noted that last Friday’s match against Yemen (1-2) in Jeddah was not a friendly but was played in a four-set format, adding that the association has full confidence in its players to deliver a satisfactory performance in official tournaments.

Al-Yousef stated that discussions regarding the Saudi Super Cup, scheduled to be hosted in the country from December 19 to 23, are premature. However, he confirmed that Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese, will be present in Kuwait.

He also indicated that two major events in 2027 will be hosted by the country, and details will be announced in the coming period.
