Arab Center for Educational Research in the Gulf States Organizes Educational Forum on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Education
Dr. Muhammad Al-Sharika, Director of the Arab Center for Educational Research in the Gulf States, affirmed that the Educational Forum on Integrating Students with Disabilities into Education reflects the Center’s commitment to supporting the development of educational policies and practices that enhance the inclusion of students with disabilities within the educational system.
In a statement to KUNA following the forum’s opening, Al-Sharika commended the patronage of Minister of Education, Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabai, noting that it underscores the importance of developing the educational system and reinforcing the concept of equal educational opportunities, thereby ensuring an inclusive school environment that addresses the needs of students with disabilities and supports their active participation across all stages of the educational process.
He stated that the forum, which concludes tomorrow, Monday, is organized in partnership with the College of Education at the University of Kuwait, with participation from faculty members from the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He added that this academic and educational partnership contributes to the exchange of expertise and experiences, and strengthens Gulf cooperation in the field of integrating students with disabilities into education, thereby supporting the development of educational practices and providing an inclusive and sustainable learning environment.
For his part, Hamad Al-Hamad, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education, emphasized the importance of the Educational Forum on Integrating Students with Disabilities into Education as an educational and academic platform that enhances the exchange of Gulf expertise and experiences and develops educational practices that support students with disabilities. He noted the Ministry’s commitment to embedding the principles of inclusive education and providing a comprehensive learning environment that ensures equal opportunities for all learners, supports their capabilities, and meets their educational and pedagogical needs.
Al-Hamad praised the significance of the forum, explaining that the focus on inclusive education stems from a commitment to providing equitable educational opportunities for all students and reinforcing pedagogical practices that accommodate individual differences and support learners’ capabilities. He affirmed that cooperation among Gulf educational and academic entities contributes to the exchange of expertise and the development of educational solutions capable of achieving effective and sustainable inclusion.
