Kuwait Stock Exchange: Investment environment is changing at an accelerating pace, driven by advancements in artificial intelligence

The Kuwait Stock Exchange hosted the “MSCI Institutional Investor Forum” on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, with the participation of a select group of senior institutional investment specialists. The forum discussed key transformations reshaping global markets and their implications for portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management.

Hosting the forum for the second consecutive year, the Kuwait Stock Exchange is part of three exclusive events organized by MSCI in the Middle East during 2026. These events bring together institutional investors and investment leaders in the region to exchange insights on the most impactful issues in investment decision-making. The forum also extends the knowledge exchange between the Kuwait Stock Exchange and MSCI, which has been ongoing since 2020, and strengthens direct engagement between participants in the Kuwaiti capital markets and global expertise, research, and investment practices.

The forum opened with a welcome address by Justin Kennedy-Lund, Head of the Middle East Region at MSCI, followed by a series of specialized sessions addressing the most significant changes affecting the global investment landscape.

Commenting on hosting the event for the second consecutive year and the impactful transformations in the global investment landscape addressed in this year’s edition, Noura Al-Abdulkarim, Head of the Markets Sector at the Kuwait Stock Exchange, stated: “The investment environment is changing at an accelerating pace, driven by advancements in artificial intelligence and data, geopolitical shifts, and the growth of private markets. This underscores the importance of direct dialogue with global research and investment institutions. Kuwait’s inclusion in the regional tour of the MSCI Institutional Investor Forum reflects the growing presence of the Kuwaiti capital markets within the region’s institutional investment ecosystem.”

She added: “The Kuwait Stock Exchange is committed to providing listed companies, investors, and market participants with direct access to the latest global research, insights, and practices, based on its belief that knowledge and information quality are fundamental elements in supporting market efficiency and more informed investment decision-making. The forum is part of the Exchange’s efforts to enhance the presence of the Kuwaiti capital markets in global investment discourse and to strengthen cooperation with MSCI.”
