Lock of a transformer broken and two air conditioning units worth 1,200 dinars stolen

A transformer belonging to the Ministry of Electricity and Water in the Mishref area was targeted in a theft incident after an unknown individual broke the lock on the transformer’s door and stole two high-capacity air conditioning units inside.

According to the report filed by the legal representative of the Ministry of Electricity, as cited by a security source to “Al-Anba,” an inspection revealed that the transformer’s door had been forcibly broken. The perpetrator managed to enter and steal the two high-capacity air conditioning units, valued at approximately 1,200 dinars, in addition to the damage sustained by the door.

The source added that immediately after the report was filed, the competent authorities initiated procedures to investigate the circumstances of the incident and determine how the perpetrator gained access to the transformer and carried out the theft, followed by an assessment of the damages and missing items.

He further stated that the Public Prosecution ordered an inspection of the crime scene and the summoning of forensic investigators to collect traces and evidence that could help identify the perpetrator. The prosecution also requested that the Criminal Investigation Department conduct the necessary inquiries to uncover and apprehend those involved in the incident. The source concluded that a case was registered under the title “Theft by Breaking and Entering,” with investigations and inquiries ongoing to uncover the circumstances and identify the suspect.
