Video: Suspects arrested with 700,000 Captin tablets in Kabeed

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics, announced the seizure of 700,000 tablets of Captagon, a psychotropic substance. This operation was the result of security cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the sister Republic of Iraq, and coordinated efforts to combat narcotics and apprehend those involved.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry stated that the operation led to the arrest of one suspect of Iraqi nationality and another individual residing illegally in the livestock farms (jawakhir) of the Kabd area, both of whom were found in possession of the seized quantity. The Ministry clarified that upon confrontation, the suspects admitted that the drugs belonged to them and were intended for trafficking.

The Ministry further explained that the suspects have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against them.

It added that this operation highlights the importance of international security cooperation in apprehending drug traffickers, exposing their activities, and preventing the spread of these poisons, thereby contributing to the protection of society and strengthening joint efforts to combat the scourge of narcotics.
