Imprisonment for cooperative chairman and vice chairman in case of embezzlement and money laundering

Abdul Karim Ahmad: The Court of Appeal sentenced the chairman of the board of directors of a cooperative society to two years’ imprisonment with hard labor, and his deputy to four years’ imprisonment with hard labor, for embezzling the cooperative’s funds and laundering those funds. The two defendants were referred to trial after being charged with embezzling the cooperative society’s funds and conducting financial transactions related to it, before laundering the proceeds.
