Hashish and shabu sale thwarted as migrant apprehended after chase

Manasoor Al-Sultan: Early yesterday morning, support patrol officers from the Farwaniya Security Directorate handed over a foreign national of Arab origin to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics after he was apprehended in the Farwaniya area in possession of narcotic substances.

According to a security source who spoke to Al-Anbaa newspaper, during a patrol by one of the support units of the Farwaniya Security Directorate in the Farwaniya area early yesterday, an individual was spotted standing still beneath one of the buildings. When officers approached him, he fled, but they pursued and detained him.

The source added that the suspect was a foreign national of Arab origin, and a precautionary search revealed a bag containing the narcotic substance Shabu (methamphetamine) and another bag containing hashish.

It was clarified that during the initial investigation, the suspect confessed that he was waiting for another person to purchase the narcotics from him. Consequently, he and the seized items were referred to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics to complete the legal procedures.
