Foreign Minister discusses efforts to make progress in the search for missing Kuwaitis and the recovery of Kuwaiti property

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber met with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the Office of the High Commissioner, as well as ways to enhance it to achieve shared objectives.

Sheikh Jeraf Al-Jaber also met with Mary Yamasita, the Senior Representative of the Secretary-General for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2792 (2025) concerning the follow-up on the file of missing Kuwaitis and nationals of third countries, and the return of Kuwaiti property, including the National Archives, at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York.

The meeting focused on efforts to achieve tangible progress in the search for missing Kuwaitis and nationals of third countries, determining their fate, and the recovery of Kuwaiti property, including the National Archives.
