Foreign Minister Discusses Efforts to Advance the Search for Missing Kuwaitis and Recovery of Kuwaiti Property

Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber met with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation between Kuwait and the High Commissioner’s Office, as well as ways to enhance it to achieve shared objectives.

Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber also met with Mari Yamashita, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for implementing Security Council Resolution 2792 (2025) concerning the follow-up on the file of missing Kuwaiti nationals and third-country nationals, and the return of Kuwaiti property, including the National Archives. The meeting took place at the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in New York.

During the meeting, the parties discussed efforts aimed at making tangible progress in the search for missing Kuwaiti nationals and third-country nationals, determining their fate, and recovering Kuwaiti property, including the National Archives.
