The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned and denounced the escalation of terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the militia’s repeated and deliberate attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in the capital, Riyadh, and in the cities of Bisha, Taif, Firasan, and Yanbu. Bahrain described these actions as a blatant violation of the rules of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and relevant Security Council resolutions.

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures undertaken by Riyadh to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect its citizens and residents on its territory, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. It emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s security and stability are an integral part of the national security of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bahrain praised the efficiency and high readiness of the Saudi Royal Air Defense Forces in confronting and thwarting these terrorist attacks, and their success in intercepting and destroying a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia toward Riyadh.

Bahrain reiterated its call upon the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and adopt a firm stance to halt the repeated terrorist attacks by the Houthis targeting civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to hold the perpetrators accountable, and to implement its relevant resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216.
