Chairman of the Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser praises the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games

Kuwait Olympic Committee Chairman Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser Al-Sabah praised the outstanding presentation of the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya 2026), held at Mizuho Park Stadium in Nagoya, Japan. In a press statement, Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah emphasized that the ceremony reflected a high level of precision and organizational readiness commensurate with the scale and significance of this continental sporting event. He expressed hope that the participation of Kuwaiti athletes would be crowned with success and that Kuwaiti competitors would deliver strong performances reflecting their thorough preparation and translating the aspirations of Kuwait’s sporting community. The 20th Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya 2026) officially kicked off on Saturday in Nagoya, Japan, with more than 11,000 athletes from 45 countries competing in 43 different sports. The event will continue until October 4 next year. Kuwaiti sports are making a distinctive presence at the Games with a delegation of 120 athletes competing in 16 diverse disciplines: shooting, athletics, football, golf, modern pentathlon, fencing, teqball, sport climbing, karate, equestrian, squash, judo, swimming, handball, padel, and sailing.
