Housing Ministry warns citizens of unverified advertisements and property listings on social media

Cairo – Noha Imam

The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities has urged citizens and social media users to verify information and refrain from spreading unverified advertisements, offers, information, news, or data concerning the projects, services, and decisions pertaining to the ministry and its affiliated bodies, agencies, and entities.

The ministry emphasized that the official source of information is the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, or the relevant competent authority, each within its respective jurisdiction, through their officially approved channels. The entities under the ministry’s purview include: the New Urban Communities Authority and its affiliated city agencies; the Central Agency for Development and its affiliated development agencies; the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation; the Executive Agency for Drinking Water and Sanitation; the Drinking Water and Sanitation Regulatory Authority and Consumer Protection Agency; the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation and its subsidiaries; the Social Housing Fund and Real Estate Financing Support Fund; the National Center for Housing and Building Research; and the General Authority for Tourism Development.

The ministry clarified that circulating any information related to its projects or services without verifying the official source, publication date, and issuing authority may lead to the dissemination of inaccurate or incomplete information, potentially causing confusion among citizens. It called on the public to refrain from resharing such information until its accuracy is confirmed by the competent authority, or to contact the ministry directly to obtain verified and up-to-date information.

The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening communication channels with citizens and the media, and to providing information on offers, announcements, projects, and services with transparency, clarity, and prompt responsiveness to inquiries, while correcting any inaccurate information in circulation.
