Man United to secure victory over Fulham

Manchester United aims to secure their second victory in the Premier League when they visit Fulham in Matchday 5. The Red Devils are looking to pick up all three points and close the gap on the top of the table, especially as the season is still in its early stages and the race for the title remains open to all clubs.

United will face a list of absences, with Amad Diallo, Carlos Baleba, Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte, and Tom Heaton all confirmed out due to injury. Manager Michael Carrick has no players suspended, but the number of first-team players unavailable will limit his options.

The last meeting between the two sides took place in February 2026, when Manchester United beat Fulham 3-2 at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Over their last five head-to-head encounters, United hold the edge, having won three and drawn two, while Fulham have not won in that sequence. The teams drew 1-1 at Craven Cottage in August 2025, the last time they met at this venue.

Manchester City also play today against Sunderland, after recording six consecutive wins across all competitions.

Italian manager Enzo Maresca’s side won by a single goal against Coventry, Bournemouth, and Manchester United, although they played with ten men for most of the match against the latter.

City will be without Phil Foden for a third consecutive game following his red card.

Maresca said: “He knows his reaction wasn’t good, but it’s over now and we’re moving forward.”

The Italian, who previously served as manager of Manchester City’s Under-21 team and helped promote five players to the first team, indicated he may give opportunities to young talents and players who do not feature regularly in the Norwich match, allowing key starters more rest ahead of the Sunderland fixture.

Liverpool also face Bournemouth today, as do Leeds United against Crystal Palace.
