National Bank launches "NBK Reach" program for Kuwaiti students studying in the United Kingdom

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has announced the launch of the NBK Reach program, a specialized initiative designed to develop and prepare Kuwaiti students studying in the United Kingdom. The program aims to identify and attract promising national talent, enhance their professional readiness, and foster early engagement with the banking sector, thereby helping to build a generation of Kuwaiti talents capable of leading the future of business and the economy.

The program is driven by NBK’s belief in the importance of investing in young national talent and its ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwaiti students throughout their academic and professional journeys. By providing a professional training environment that enables students to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application, the program helps them gain hands-on experience and professional skills that enhance their readiness to enter the workforce with confidence and efficiency.

NBK Reach offers a comprehensive professional development experience targeted at high-potential Kuwaiti students in the UK. It allows participants to gain close exposure to the banking work environment, participate in specialized training and development programs, and benefit from professional mentoring and interaction with the bank’s leadership and experts, all of which contribute to refining their skills and broadening their professional horizons.

The program also provides participants with the opportunity to undertake an internship at NBK’s London office, enabling them to directly experience the nature of work at one of the leading banking institutions and gain practical field experience within a professional environment that reflects global banking standards.

Additionally, the program allows students to explore various roles and functions related to the banking and financial sectors and interact with the bank’s teams and experts. This helps develop their professional and personal skills, deepen their understanding of the business environment, and better prepare them to launch their careers after graduation.

The program reflects NBK’s approach to adopting innovative methods for attracting and engaging national talent at early stages of their academic journeys. This contributes to building a future base of qualified competencies capable of keeping pace with the rapid transformations across various economic sectors, particularly the financial and banking sectors.

On this occasion, Ghadeer Al-Kuhiji, Senior Vice President and Head of Talent Acquisition in the Human Resources Department of National Bank of Kuwait Group, stated: “We believe that investing in youth is an investment in Kuwait’s future. Therefore, we launched the NBK Reach program to build effective bridges of communication with outstanding Kuwaiti students in the United Kingdom, enabling them to gain close exposure to the banking work environment and acquire practical experience and distinctive skills that support their future professional journeys.”

She added: “The program reflects our strategy of developing human capital and attracting promising national competencies at early stages of their academic journeys. This enhances the readiness of Kuwaiti youth to engage in vital sectors, foremost among them the financial and banking sectors, and contributes to preparing a generation capable of meeting the demands of a changing job market.”

Al-Kuhiji emphasized that the program is a pioneering initiative within the Kuwaiti banking sector, as it provides a comprehensive developmental pathway for Kuwaiti students studying in the UK. She noted that the program embodies the bank’s commitment to continuing the attraction and development of national talent, in line with the vision of Kuwait 2035, which aims to develop human capital and build a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.
