Pakistani Foreign Minister Emphasizes to Iraqi Counterpart the Importance of Sustained Energy Supplies and Safe Passage for Ships

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, emphasized to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi the importance of maintaining energy supplies and ensuring the safe and swift passage of ships, particularly given the repercussions for developing countries and global supply chains. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that the two sides discussed recent regional developments during another call, with Dar reiterating that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means of ensuring peace and stability in the region. The two parties agreed to continue close cooperation and to hold a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
