Notable visitor turnout at the Kuwaiti pavilion during the Cultural Day at the University of Canberra

Kuwaiti Ambassador to Australia, Malik Al-Wazan, affirmed that the Embassy’s participation in the annual Cultural Day event organized by the University of Canberra is part of efforts to promote Kuwaiti culture, highlight its authenticity, heritage, and diversity, and strengthen cultural exchange among peoples.

In a statement to KUNA, Ambassador Al-Wazan said the Cultural Day event aims to introduce the cultures of participating countries and enhance cultural interaction among attendees of various nationalities. He praised the participation of Kuwaiti students studying at the university in the event.

He added that the Kuwaiti booth featured a selection of traditional Kuwaiti dishes and sweets, along with the distribution of commemorative gifts to attendees, helping visitors learn about aspects of Kuwait’s cultural heritage. He noted that the booth also displayed video clips highlighting Kuwait’s civilizational landmarks, its rich heritage, and its modern urban development. The presentation covered important cultural centers, advanced commercial districts, and traditional markets, reflecting the diversity of Kuwaiti identity and its traditional and modern facets.

Ambassador Al-Wazan stated that the Kuwaiti booth attracted significant visitor interest and served as an interactive space that enhanced cultural exchange among attendees of various nationalities while showcasing the richness and authenticity of Kuwaiti identity.

He mentioned that attendees expressed their admiration for Kuwaiti culture and its diversity, as well as the positive role played by Kuwaiti students in fostering cultural exchange among peoples.

A number of Kuwaiti students also volunteered to oversee the Kuwaiti booth. They were Yousef Al-Anzi, Bandar Al-Anzi, Haya Al-Habini, and Hind Al-Balushi, who appeared wearing the traditional Kuwaiti national dress.
