"Trainee Teacher" begins training course in October and starts teaching after passing it

An educational source revealed to Al-Anbaa the expected mechanism for implementing the “Trainee Teacher” project, through which the Ministry of Education aims to train and qualify new teachers and prepare them for fieldwork. The source explained that the program will combine theoretical training with practical practice within schools, with trainee teachers subject to continuous assessment throughout the academic year.

The source clarified that the program is expected to begin in October next, with trainee teachers undergoing a one-month training course at the Educational Development Center in the Mubarak Al-Kabir district. Following the completion of the course, they will transfer to a school and commence their actual duties by taking on a class and a teaching load, performing their tasks normally like other teachers, until the end of the first semester.

The source added that during the second semester, trainee teachers will undergo another one-month training course, followed by a return to the school to continue working and teaching by taking on a class and a teaching load, and remaining in the field for two months. It was noted that the program will not be limited to training courses but will include workshops, tasks, assignments, and continuous assessments throughout the training and practice period.

The source indicated that the assessment of trainee teachers will not rely on a single end-of-year exam to determine their success in the program. Instead, the evaluation will be comprehensive, based on their performance level and actual practice of work, tasks, and assignments assigned to them throughout the year, allowing for continuous monitoring of their professional development.

It was explained that the attendance and departure of trainee teachers will be recorded through a biometric fingerprint system. The source confirmed that trainees will be treated as trainee teachers during the program period, their service period will be counted, and they will receive a salary during this stage excluding the professional allowance (kader).

The source clarified that if a trainee teacher successfully completes the training year, they will be transferred to the position of “Teacher D,” receiving the full salary including the professional allowance in accordance with the applicable regulations and bylaws.

The source affirmed that the Ministry of Education is keen to provide all forms of support to trainee teachers and has made significant efforts in preparing the program and readying them for integration into the educational field. It emphasized that the primary objective of this phase is to train and practically and professionally qualify teachers, and to make the best possible use of their capabilities, thereby reflecting on the quality of the educational process and the stability of the educational field.
