Public Works opens applications for 129 supervisory positions from today until October 3

The Ministry of Public Works has opened applications for its employees to fill 129 vacant supervisory positions at the levels of Department Director and Section Head across various sectors of the ministry, starting today, Sunday, and running until October 3.

The ministry’s announcement limits eligibility to employees who meet the conditions set out in Civil Service Council Decision No. 25 of 2006 regarding the requirements for filling supervisory positions, as amended. Key requirements include holding a specialized university degree and possessing at least 10 years of actual experience for the Department Director position, or at least 6 years for the Section Head position, in the relevant field of work.

According to the conditions, an additional four years of actual experience are credited to holders of a specialized diploma or equivalent, or to those who have completed training courses of at least two years’ duration after completing secondary education.

Applicants must also have received an “Excellent” rating in their two most recent performance evaluations, and must have completed two full calendar years of service with the ministry prior to being appointed to the supervisory position. This is subject to the principle of career progression stipulated in Civil Service Council Decision No. 30 of 2015, except for employees of government entities that are being merged or abolished in accordance with the Civil Service Council decision adopted at its 10th meeting of 2024, held on September 19, 2024.

The ministry has also tied eligibility to compliance with the provisions of Ministerial Decision No. 342 of 2026, issued on the 16th of this month, concerning additional requirements for filling supervisory positions within the ministry.
