Kuwait Enhances Its Defensive Capabilities

Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber signed a memorandum of understanding with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand, between the Government of the State of Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Defense, and the Government of Canada, represented by the Canadian Commercial Corporation, regarding cooperation in the field of defense and security.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the signing took place at the conclusion of a meeting between Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber and the friendly Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, during his official visit to the Canadian capital, Ottawa.
The statement added that the meeting reviewed the close relations between the two friendly countries and reaffirmed both sides’ commitment to intensifying Kuwaiti-Canadian coordination on all fronts and strengthening bilateral cooperation frameworks in various fields. This reflects the robustness of the distinguished relations between the two countries, pushes them toward broader horizons, and serves their shared interests.
In a related development, Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Sharhan, met with his French counterpart, General Fabien Mandon, Chief of the Defence Staff of the French Armed Forces. The two sides discussed aspects of defense cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and develop joint defense cooperation in light of current circumstances. Both sides affirmed raising the level of coordination and cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
