The Blue Team returns to training today with the attendance of Yousuf and Faleh

Abdulaziz Jasim led the national senior football team to training this evening at the auxiliary pitch of King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in preparation for facing the host Saudi Arabia in the first round of Group A at the upcoming “Gulf Cup 27” tournament next Wednesday.

The technical staff, led by Portuguese coach Hélio Souza, had granted the players a day off from yesterday’s training following the friendly match against Yemen the day before, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Blue Team. The sole goal for the Blue Team was scored by striker Mohammed Daham.

The match featured the participation of six players from Al-Kuwait Club, who recently joined the national team after playing against Al-Wehdat of the UAE in the AFC Champions League Two last Wednesday. However, Yousef Nasser and Mohsen Falah did not take part due to muscle tightness, though they are expected to join today’s training session normally under the supervision of the medical staff.

Souza is seeking to organize the team’s setup and correct certain errors that emerged during the match against Yemen, particularly on the defensive side, whether in counter-attacks or set pieces. Consequently, the technical staff will focus on technical aspects during training, a crucial step for the coach to explain the team’s weaknesses in coordination with the national team’s technical analyst.

The national team’s training session will be open to the media for 15 minutes today, allowing the players the opportunity to concentrate.
