Handball "Blue" defeats Iran

The national handball team launched its campaign in the 20th Asian Games, held in Nagoya, Japan, with a well-deserved 26-24 victory over Iran in the first-round match of Group 2, played yesterday morning. Iran led 15-13 at the end of the first half, but the Blue Team managed to turn the tide against their opponents. With this win, the Blue Team secured their first victory and temporarily topped the standings. They are set to face a tough match against South Korea tomorrow evening, as the opponent is considered one of the top contenders for the gold medal and the title.

The technical staff, led by coach Aron Kristiansen, successfully read the game’s dynamics and reversed the result despite the circumstances surrounding the match and the minor details that nearly cost the Blue Team the win at the start. Although the opponents held the advantage early in the second half, our team’s resurgence was not long in coming, particularly highlighted by Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, who scored 11 goals in the match, and the contributions of brothers Saif and Hamoud Al-Adwani, who shared eight goals, with each scoring four.
