Israel burns "Mays Al-Jabal Government Hospital"; Health Ministry: A complete war crime

The Israeli army burned down the government hospital in Mays al-Jabal, in southern Lebanon, sparking a wave of widespread condemnation. Most notably, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health issued a statement denouncing the act as a "despicable barbaric crime committed by the Israeli enemy through the burning of the Mays al-Jabal government hospital, in a blatant, savage, and flagrant aggression."

The ministry stated that "targeting medical institutions and healthcare personnel constitutes a complete war crime and a blatant violation of international agreements." It called on "the international community, the World Health Organization, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to immediately break their suspicious silence and hold the occupier accountable for its repeated crimes against the Lebanese healthcare sector."

The ministry also emphasized that "these criminal acts will not break the will to resist, and the ministry will continue to fulfill its national and humanitarian duty, supporting our people in the south with all available capabilities, no matter the sacrifices."
