Pakistan: Dozens killed and injured in explosion at police headquarters mosque in Kohat
Pakistan’s Interior Ministry announced that at least 17 people were killed and dozens injured in a blast at a mosque within the police headquarters in Kohat, Khyber District. Citing the Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Khalil Hamid, the Inspector General of Police for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, confirmed that 17 people, including six police officers, were killed and approximately 50 others injured in the mosque explosion, which occurred near a residential complex. Hamid stated that a suicide bomber carried out the attack and that gunfire was also exchanged.
