Kuwait's squash team heads to Japan for the 20th Asian Games

The Kuwaiti national squash team departed for Japan on Thursday to participate in the 20th Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya 2026), which features 12 countries with a total of 64 players representing various nations across the continent.

Kuwait’s squash team is competing in both the men’s singles and team events in the open category, represented by players Ammar Al-Tamimi, Badr Al-Maghribi, Jasim Al-Gharib, and Khalid Al-Fawzan, under the guidance of national squash coach Falah Faiz. The competition is scheduled to begin on September 23 and conclude on September 29.

In this regard, Adel Al-Gharib, head of the delegation and member of the board of directors, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the Asian competition represents a golden opportunity for Kuwait’s national team players to prove their worth on the international stage, gain experience, and enhance their performance levels, given the presence of more than 60 players from various countries across the continent.

He clarified that Kuwait’s national team players possess the necessary capabilities to compete with, and even surpass, their counterparts, owing to their high skills and full readiness to engage in top-level Asian competition. He also highlighted the federation’s confidence in its players to deliver a distinguished and strong performance.

Al-Gharib extended his thanks to Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, and Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, for their unlimited support of Kuwaiti players and for providing them with everything they need to compete for a medal in the name of the State of Kuwait, reflecting the standing of Kuwaiti squash players on the continental stage.
