Asala to her fans in Damascus: "Hold your head high"

On Thursday evening, a concert by singer Asala Nasri was held at the Al-Fayhaa Sports Hall in the Syrian capital, Damascus, marking a long-awaited return after an absence of nearly 15 years from performing live in Syria. The evening, titled “Asala’s Return,” was sponsored by the Syrian Ministry of Culture and drew a notable audience and media presence.

Asala entered the concert hall to the melody of the song “Raise Your Head, You Are a Free Syrian,” which she sang alongside the audience. She then performed a selection of her most famous songs, along with tracks from her Syrian album, which features 14 songs inspired by the heritage and music of various Syrian governorates.

The event’s audience extended beyond those present at Al-Fayhaa Sports Hall, as the concert received coverage and live broadcast on several Arab satellite channels and platforms, including MBC, MBC Mod, Rotana Music, and Shahid, alongside other channels and platforms, allowing Asala’s voice from Damascus to reach a wide audience across the Arab world.
