Foreign Minister Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Canadian Counterpart in the Field of Defense and Security

Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber met with his Canadian counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand, during the Foreign Minister’s official visit to the Canadian capital, Ottawa.
The meeting reviewed the close ties between the two friendly countries and reaffirmed both sides’ commitment to intensifying Kuwaiti-Canadian coordination across all fields, strengthening bilateral cooperation frameworks in various sectors, reflecting the robust nature of the distinguished relations between the two nations, and advancing them toward broader horizons that serve their shared interests.
The two sides also discussed recent regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two ministers signed a memorandum of understanding between the Government of the State of Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Defense, and the Government of Canada, represented by the Canadian Commercial Corporation, regarding cooperation in the field of defense and security.
