Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the Houthi targeting of Saudi Arabia's Taif province

The State of Qatar strongly condemned the targeting of the Taif Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by a drone launched by the Houthi militia. The interception of the drone resulted in the scattering of debris, causing the death of one person, injuries to two others, and material damage to several buildings and vehicles.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that these attacks constitute despicable aggressive behavior, an unacceptable disregard for the lives of civilians, a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a clear breach of international law.

The Ministry reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and interests. It emphasized that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of the State of Qatar and the collective security framework of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).

The Ministry also expressed Qatar’s condolences to the family of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery, praying to Almighty God to protect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its brotherly people from all harm.
